From: MeMacFooled The MAC distributors who “survived” in my territory were making their real living selling independent tools (SK, OTC, NESCO etc.) MAC just did not have the quality, the product, the pieces in stock, or the right price. Oh and by the way, selling other manufacturers tools is a practice that was prohibited by MAC...
Whats it like in your area? Still the same old bull? Please tell us your story...

As I read these stories I look back at
mine. I joined Mac in 99 as Mac Direct employee and then was suckered in to
convertering to a Dist/Franchise and as the story goes lost it all
business, house, savings and bankruptcy. I cant remember how many district
manangers I had and how no one came to rescue after 10 years of service and
being a top performer. So I say run as fast as you can from this company. It was
a shame when the last law suit didnt put an end to Mac Tools evil.

Will not convert to franchise. Nothing in it for the distributor just more control for MAC. Why would I pay MAC $1K a year to screw me more!!"

"I have posted earlier, as a former distributor. Just wondering what's going on, if MAC just gets to convert, without any liabilities whatsoever. Still makes my gut churn thinking about all that I've lost, and going to lose (house) and how hard it is to make any of that back right now while the economy is tanking. Struggling to get by. At least my words have not gone unheeded- the Snap-On guy on this route quit after watching me go under, and then S-O pressuring him to buy the route. He walked, and said, no thank you ! GOOD MAN !"

considering buying an existing distributorship from a friend who has done it for
20 years. Any

About "MeMacFooled" ...
Hello, I am a former Mac Tools Distributor and my “business opportunity” negatively impacted my finances, my health, and my family’s sense of well-being. It was the worst decision of my life.About "MeMacFooled" ...
My experience with Mac:
- The income potential of the route was misrepresented.
- I encountered constant and severe problems with fulfillment of product / back-orders from Mac.
- The District Manager(s) (when I had one) cared more about selling tools to me ... rather than caring about helping me sell tools and take care of my customers.
- My initial "discovery rides" with current distributors were orchestrated by the District Manager. I did not ride with what was the majority of dissatisfied distributors in the territory.
- The customer credit that Mac said they would provide to end users for large purchases was not competitive with the competitions offer.
- I was manipulated into investing more than necessary at the onset of my distributorship.
- The Warranty return program was punitive to the distributor.
